Let me tell you all a bit of our CHILING hike yesterday. It was fantastic and thrilling to say the least! The trail condition, environment setting, the route.. all have been beautifully laid out.
In fact I would say that it is more beautiful than that of GUNUNG NUANG. The excitement of needing to cross the stream/river a number of time says it all.. What I particularly like is it has got a lot of ” resting places” which we can take some breather when needed to, a lot of giant rocks resting all over the stream in which one can lies down or sits on them. And they are shaded as well, makes it cooler and breezy!
That place is kinda of reserved forest, that is why it is clean and still “uncontaminated” yet.. Basically, it is an easy trek and one can complete it in 1 and a half hours the most.. So, for those seasoned hikers, 1 hour is within their reach. Another thing worth mentioning is b4 we hike on it, we went sight seeing at the SELANGOR DAM.
You know what, the scenic there is fascinating, one would have thought that they are at XI HU of CHINA! Well, I will leave that to you all to have some imagination.. I, for one would one day go back there again for sure! Ok, gotta go now.
Talk to you all some other time.. And a big thank you to TEOH for bringing us to explore to another nice place.. I believe everyone had enjoyed every min of it very much..
Cheers..
HOW DOES COLON WORK?
As part of the digestive tract, the colon aids in digestion and the elimination of waste products. When the colon is packed with accumulated, hardened feces due to a poor diet, constipation, or some other gastrointestinal problem, waste can build up. According to proponents of colon therapy, this buildup can result in stagnation and decay of the fecal material in the colon. This decay, in turn, produces a whole host of bacteria and other “toxins” that can be absorbed into the bloodstream, resulting in myriad illnesses–from a simple cold to life-threatening coronary artery disease. Colon therapists suggest that the typical American diet, which is low in fiber and high in red meat and other fatty foods, is a major contributor to this problem.
WHAI IS COLON THERAPY?
Colon therapy is the process of cleansing and flushing out the colon, or large intestine in order to eliminate accumulated fecal matter and toxic materials from the bowel. The purpose of colon therapy is to cleanse, stimulate and rejuvenate the digestive system. A healthy colon is essential for optimal health and well being of the entire body. Colon Therapy also called colonic irrigation or colonic hydrotherapy, the treatment is similar to an enema but more extensive. Whereas an enema (which you can do yourself) bathes only the lower portion of the colon, colonic irrigation (which must be done by a trained practitioner) attempts to clean the entire–roughly five-foot–length.
Those who espouse colon therapy say that the health of the colon can affect the health of the entire body. This theory holds little credence with the majority of conventional physicians, however. They believe there is no reason whatsoever to irrigate the colon, except in some cases of constipation and before certain surgical procedures, such as a colonoscopy. They also contend that the best way to care for the colon is to let its own natural physiological actions keep it in good working order.
Nevertheless, therapies to cleanse the colon have been around for thousands of years. The earliest recorded versions have been traced to physicians of ancient Egypt, who used devices similar to those employed for modern-day enemas. To improve one’s well-being in 17th-century France it was fashionable to “enjoy” as many as three or four enemas a day.
Irrigation of the entire colon only came into prominence during the late 19th century, when Russian microbiologist Ilya Ilich Mechnikov first described the concept of “autointoxication.” He argued that the body could actually poison itself as the toxins from fecal matter were absorbed through the lining of the large intestine and into the bloodstream.
The article created a wave of enthusiasm among conventional physicians, and for the next three decades various devices for colon irrigation became a common sight in the offices of many M.D.s, as well as in hospitals and nursing homes. Among the ailments for which doctors typically recommended colon therapy were high blood pressure, heart disease, arthritis, and depression.
ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS TO COLON THERAPY?
1. If you have any questions about how colon therapy may affect your health, discuss them with your doctor first.
2. Colon therapy is not recommended if you have blood in your stool, severe hemorrhoids, Crohn’s disease, congestive heart failure, severe anemia, abdominal hernia, heart disease, high blood pressure, amoebic dysentery, gastrointestinal cancer, tumors of the large intestine or rectum, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, or recent colon surgery (less than three months).
3. If you are in the first or third trimester of pregnancy, colon therapy is not recommended because it may induce labor.
4. Make sure the clinic you choose is clean and that the therapist is reputable and well-trained. Infection can occur if equipment is not properly sterilized or disposable.
5. Colon therapy is not known to react with any drugs or medications.
6. Among the possible but remote complications of colon therapy are perforation of the intestinal wall, disturbance in the body’s fluid balance, and heart failure caused by excess water in the blood.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR COLON THERAPY? You will be asked some questions about your medical history as pertains to colon therapy. Rubber tubing, sterilized after each client session, carries body temperature filtered water into your colon at a safe and minimal amount of pressure(gravity), stimulating the smooth muscle of your colon to contract and eliminate waste material. Approximately fifteen gallons of water are used during the procedure, but only two or three pints are maintained internally at any one time, though some people can hold much more.
The water now is always under direct control of the therapist-Water is introduced and expelled to allow encrusted waste and mucous to be carried away. The waste enters directly into the sewage system so there is no unpleasant odor. A sometimes-nutritive substance such as Acidophilus or wheat grass juice is added to the water or as an implant. HOW DO I KNOW I CAN BENEFIT FROM COLON THERAPY?
On an individual basis, people do report that colon treatments relieve the distention and bloating associated with constipation and help restore regular bowel movements. Anecdotal evidence suggests that colon therapy may be useful for a number of ailments including indigestion, gas, headaches, joint problems, allergies, asthma, skin problems, and even toxicity from drugs, alcohol, and smoking.
Due to its overall detoxifying effect, nearly everyone can benefit from colon therapy. When the colon is packed or lined with accumulated hardened feces lodged in the pockets of the colon walls, muscular contractions (peristalsis)are obstructed and more feces build up along the walls, resulting in the colon’s inability to properly evacuate. Waste built up over many months or years can actually result in five, ten, fifteen or more pounds of weight, causing a distended and abnormally shaped colon.
The clogged colon interferes with the anal absorption and digestion of food, depriving the body of necessary nutrients and resulting in fermentation and putrefaction of undigested food and creating poisons. The poisons are reabsorbed into the bloodstream and carried to every part of the body, causing a tired and listless feeling; effects on the brain and nervous system cause depression and irritability; lungs produce foul breath and breathing is stressful; dysfunction of the digestive organs causes skin problems and a sallow complexion; and joints become stiff and painful due to toxic deposits.
Specific conditions which respond particularly well to colonic therapy are chronic or acute constipation indigestion; gas; prolapsed colon; fatigue; headaches; allergies; lung disorders, including asthma; skin problems, including acne, excema and psoriasis; toxicity due to drugs, alcohol, smoking or toxic chemicals; fibrocystic breasts; many acute illnesses, such as colds, flu and sore throats; joint problems; some kidney problems; and mucous congestion anywhere in the body. Colonics also stimulate the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system to dump toxins. If you already feel healthy and are interested in maintaining health and promoting longevity, colonics can help with increasing energy, maintaining proper weight and preventing disease. HOW MANY COLONICS WILL I NEED?Often the waste is so hard and well lodged in the colon that a series of colonics are necessary to sufficiently soften and loosen deposits. The number of treatments varies with the individual and the condition. Your colon therapist can best advise you regarding frequency of treatment.
WILL I EXPERIENCE ANY SIDE EFFECTS FROM COLON THERAPY?The purpose of colon therapy, as with therapeutic fasting, is to cleanse the system. As toxins are released, you may experience very brief1y such symptoms as bad breath or body odor, nausea, chilliness or a slight headache. Most people feel lighter and more energetic and have an increased sense of wellness after colon therapy.
WILL COLON THERAPY DAMAGE THE NORMAL INTESTINAL FLORA?One of the functions of the first half of the colon is to gather the intestinal flora needed for healthy colon functioning. When the accumulation of feces in the bowel leads to fecal encrustation, normal functioning becomes impossible and the glands lining the intestine cannot maintain the necessary intestinal flora. The resulting lack of lubrication intensifies a state of constipation and generates toxemia when the acid-alkaline balance is stunted. Cleansing the colon will help to bring the acid-alkaline ration back into balance. Under the improved conditions, friendly bacteria will again thrive and disease-causing bacteria will have trouble developing. Reintroduction of healthy normal flora can assist the body in this process.
I like to share this article, which may be of use to you and/or your friends.Under weakly alkaline condition, cancerous cells will not be able to grow, or even to survive.
Actual case studies, very important, please read patiently and pass this on.
Even if you have read this before, you should reread this, especially the list of acidic and alkaline food stuff, best to read several times and remembered.
Please take your time to complete this article, it will be helpful to your health.
More that 30 years ago, a Mr Zhang who work in the public sale department of a Taipei Brewery, participated in the brewery overseas study selection examination, and passed with flying colours.
Before going overseas during the physical examination at a public hospital, it was discovered that he has a tumour growth in his lung of the size of a child’s fist, and therefore was not able to go overseas to study.
The greatly disappointed Mr Zhang has always been suspicious that the diagnosis was wrong. So he went to another hospital for a check-up, the result confirmed that previous diagnosis was not in error.
For the youthful and healthy Mr Zhang to be stricken down with such terminal illness, in his despair, he rang his old classmate who at the time was Taidong County Government, Huangsun County Mayor’s secretary, Mr Wei
Mr Weil rushed to Taipei during his rest day on a Sunday to see Mr Zhang.
Mr Zhang discussed with Mr Wei in details his despair and pessimism, and entrusted his friend regarding his affairs after his death. Coincidentally, Mr Wei was a good friend of Dr Lu Geling, who was in-charge of the Maijie Hospital, 1945-55, and specialised in the clinical research into cancer cases.
He immediately suggested that Mr Zhang went and see Dr Lu for treatment. At first, Mr Zhang said he preferred not to consult anymore doctors, so as not to add further to his misery.
But Mr Wei told him that he had telephoned Dr Lu before to seek his advice and arranged an appointment. Mr Zhang felt obligated and went with Mr Wei to meet Dr Lu.
When Dr Lu met with Mr Zhang, Dr Lu said: ‘ Mr Wei is a friend and introduce you and I to get to know each other. This is destiny. Thank you.. Let me ask you do you know why is cancer referred to as terminal illness?’
Both Mr Zhang and Mr Wei did not how to answer.
Dr Lu explained: ‘There are only two approaches taken by human to treat cancer to date. The first is to destroy the source of the disease. The second is the increase the capability to fight the disease.
But the strange thing is that, cancer whether we use Cobalt 60 or other drug to destroy the cancer cells, however, before the cancer cells are killed, the good cells are destroyed first.
On the other hand, no matter we use what nutrients or supplements, before the good cells have a chance to absorb them, the cancer cells have taken them up and it simply speeds up the grow of cancer.
Therefore both approaches are doomed to failure, that is why cancer is terminal.’
Dr Lu continues: ‘Human being is most clever, they have successfully landed on the moon. But why is it no one ever question the above two approaches for treating cancer are nothing but self defeating dead-ends, try to seek out a third avenue?
When I was conducting clinical research in Majie Hospital , I had many opportunities to work with and being helped by many colleagues in the Hospital. I discovered that the blood tests of 100% of the cancer patients showed that the blood sample are acidic.
Those Buddhist monks and nuns who are long term vegetarians and live very close to Nature, their blood are prevalently weakly alkaline and amongst them, there has yet to discover any cancer cases.
Therefore, I boldly concluded that under weakly alkaline condition, cancer cells are not able to grow, or even to survive.
Mr Zhang, I would suggest that starting from now you reduce your intake of the acidic meaty dishes.
Take more of the alkaline food. In addition you can take green algae and soup made from water chestnuts with shell,
Modify your physical condition, and try seriously to have a regular life style which is close to Nature;
If you can manage to stay alive for five years, you should have no further problem. I wish you the best of luck.’
Mr Zhang follow Dr Lu’s suggestion and seriously alter his eating habits.
Every day, he ate green algae, drank chestnut soup, be optimistic and doing appropriate amount of exercise, and went back to the same public hospital for a check up. It was discovered that not only that the tumour did not increase in size, on the contrary it showed signs of shrinking, and surprised the hospital staff conducting the check-up as a miracle. Five years later, the tumour s shrunk to such a state as to be almost disappear.
After almost 40 years, presently Mr Zhang’s health is totally normal, and living a very pleasant life.
Following Mr Zhang, a Mr Chen Tianshou, who was previously Head of the General Administration of the Taidong Provincial Hospital , was similarly diagnosed with lung cancer.
When Mr Wei heard of this, he told Mr Chen of the experience of Mr Zhang, and Mr Chen started to follow the instructions of Dr Lu to change his physical condition. The outcome was that he was able to recover fully from the cancer, just like Mr Zhang.
At that time, Mr Lu and his family have emigrated to the United States . After the two cases, he returned to Taiwan and met up with Mr Wei.
Mr Wei told Dr Lu about the experiences of Mr Zhang and Mr Chen, and suggested that let the two of them detailed their experiences to Dr Lu in person, so that Dr Lu could publish a report on his self cure body conditioning method.
Dr Lu very humbly replied:
‘I am too old, besides, I do not have any clinical records of the outcomes. I would ask that you tell your friends and relatives, if they are agreeable, then please continue this experience and spread the words … …One should take care of oneself but should also be caring about others, 85% of cancer patients have acidic in their physical condition.
Blood of healthy persons is weakly alkaline in nature, with a pH of about 7.35 to 7.4
Babies’ blood is also weakly acidic
As adults mature their blood becomes more acidic in nature
According to a study of 600 cancer patients, of their bodily fluid, 85% of the patients are acidic.
Therefore, how to maintain the weakly acidic nature of our body is the first step for moving far away from diseases.
Acidic physical conditions manifested itself in:
1. Skin without luster
2. Athlete’s foot
3. Feeling tire even with very little exercise, and feeling sleep the moment one gets on
to public buses
4. Easily out of breath going up and down stair
5. Fat and with lower stomach protruding
6. Move slowly and movement lethargic
Why does the body physical condition turn acidic?
1. Excessive intake of dairy acidic food
a) meat, dairy products, eggs, beef, ham, etc are acidic food.
b) taking too much acidic food will cause the blood to become acidic and viscous,
difficult to flow to the end of blood vessels, leading to cold feet or knee, stiff
shoulders and insomnia.
When one is young and strong, taking suitable quantity of meat is appropriate, but older people it more suitable to have a diet which are primarily vegetables or small fish.
Irregularity in the pace of life will cause the body physical condition to become acidic
Irregular pace in life will lead to mental and physical stress
According to statistics, people who sleep late are more likely to have cancer than normal persons, by as much as 5 times..
Human beings originally lead a life with regular tempo in this world, it is not possible to store up sleep or food and not possible to change the order of living by mixing up days and nights.
Human organs are controlled by the autonomic nerves, and during day time it is mainly sympathetic nerves activities, and at night it is mainly the parasympathetic nerves which are functioning, If this order is disturbed and reversed, then diseases will result.
Emotion over tensed
Civilised society brings stresses
Job related or mental stresses
A person suffers mental stress, when the stress is removed and the person relaxes, sometimes this may lead to death, referred to as the syndrome of imperfect adrenal cortex function.
Physical Stress
Before any operation it would be necessary to check to see if the renal cortex does function normally. If the adrenal cortex is lacking, or if the stress imposed by the operation exceeded the ability of adrenal cortex to cope, it could lead to death or other undesirable impacts.
If it noted that patient’s face is puffy, it would be necessary to inquire in detail the patient’s medical history and medication status, for patients taking adrenal cortical hormone, extra care should be exercise when administering acupuncture.
Stress due to physical labour or exercise in excess, whole night card games, driving etc should be avoided as much as possible
Appendix: Acidity/alkalinity of Common food stuff
Strongly acidic food: egg yolk, cheese, cake make with white sugar or persimmon, mullet fish roe, dried cod.
Strongly alkaline food: grape, tea leave, grape wine, kelp sprout, kelp, etc. Especially natural green algae which contain rich quantity of chlorophyll are very good alkaline health food, but tea should not be drunk in excess, and best to drink in the morning.
Going to gym has been my routine since two years ago, not only wanted to shred off some “extra meat”, it’s a good channel to distress after a long hassled day.
I definitely look greater than before I started my exercise regime, feeling proud of the results by looking back the photos 3 years ago. Nevertheless, my knowledge on fitness is limited and my body condition became stagnant for a long period when reaching certain level.
Three months back, have forgotten what was the drive that made D, J and myself engaged our trainer, P.K. kicked off the weekly fitness training. P.K. is our personal friend, who has the qualification as fitness instructor as well as years experience in Taekwondo teaching.
D, J and I have different focus on our training agenda, one thing for sure is we all want to look better than right now. I can see my body muscle is being toned. Those hanging fat is gradually turned into proper muscle shape. I am liking it… nowadays I always stand in front of the mirror naked to check out which parts of my body need more work. Unfortunately, there are still lots of work to be done, arm, thigh, abdomen… just need lots of “fixing”.
Especially reaching the 30’s make myself more conscious not only on body shape, and also in general health. I eat less junk, less fried food, more skincare, more exercise… just try to delay the effect of aging.
Fitness becomes my choice of fundamental effort to retain youthness in life. I feel awesome to be fitting in a pretty clothes; I feel young to be able running more than 30 mins without gasping; I feel fruitful when finishing a session of training; I feel lively when my body in sweat; I feel stronger to hold the heavier dumbbell each time; I feel motivated to breakthrough my limitations; I want to feel more…
Picking up a recent photo 3 months later, I am confident I will have a broader smile.
I still remember when I was still a kid, I do not really like to take breakfast. Reason why I do not like to take breakfast is because I prefer to sleep more, rather than wasting 15 minutes to take my breakfast. But I’ve changed my mind during secondary school life when I started to have badly gastric. Now, I rather wake up 15 minutes earlier to take my breakfast.
Breakfast is typically the first meal of the day, preceding lunch or dinner and is eaten in the morning. The English word derives from the idea of breaking the involuntary fast of sleep, thus signifying the first meal eaten after awakening. Traditionally breakfast is a large meal eaten before work and designed to carry people through a large part of the day. The erosion of breakfast has been an ongoing trend in the West since at least the early 20th century, coinciding with later waking times than when most Westerners had agricultural occupations. Today hampered by busy morning schedules, much neglect breakfast or skip it entirely. This trend now exists in industrialized nations worldwide, where it is accompanied frequently by replacing local breakfast traditions with modern Western-style foods, often packaged or pre-made.
Many nutritionists claim breakfast is a very important meal, pointing to studies that have shown that people who eat breakfast tend to weigh less. Studies have shown a negative correlation between children and adolescents who usually have breakfast and these children and adolescents being overweight, despite the fact that these people generally consumed more daily calories than those who skip this meal. In addition to the nutritional claims, there is concern that students who do not eat breakfast perform worse in school. Research has indicated that eating a meal before noon, consisting of standard breakfast-style a food is positively correlated with improved functioning of school-aged children.
There is still skepticism of this mantra however. Some people say that nutrition lists are using correlation fallacy when equating breakfast with good health or good school performance. Some studies have indicated that people who go without breakfast as a diet may eat foods with higher energy concentrations, which ends up being less healthy. Along the same line of thinking, it has been suggested that children who do not eat breakfast may not do so because their bodies rebel against any morning activity, including breakfast and early classes. Another hypothesis about breakfast is that it interrupts the body’s cycle between SNS activity and PSNS activity. According to this line of thought, meals are naturally taken after activity involved in hunting, gathering, or preparing the food needed and deviation from this gives the bodies stresses it has not evolved to handle. The first meal of the day ends the nightly burning of fat activity and thus ends the intense detoxification your body goes through at night.
My name is Patricia Goh Geok Gin. I’m 25 years old. I work as a teacher. Teaching can be stressful. In spite of this, i always have positive thinking because i believe good health starts in the mind. If we feel exhausted and have negative thinking, we can easily fall sick. Good health is very important to be productive in our work.
Most of us know that we need to exercise to be healthy. Actually need to have a proper frame of mind to be healthy too. Positive mental attitude is a must. Let me share my experience as a teacher. I started to work as a temporary teacher when i was 20 years old. I used to complain all the time that i had to scold the students whenever i entered the classes. As i learnt from experience, complaining is not the solution. We need to find positive ways to curb discipline problems. Understanding the students is one of the ways.
When i was in university, i was forced to join aerobic classes (one of the extra-curricular activities). I chose choir but was forced to join aerobic classes instead. Initially, i wasn’t happy because i hated dancing. Gradually, i found that aerobic classes are exciting and fun. Before i attended aerobic classes, i used to have gastritis problems, but after joining this aerobic classes, i don’t have to eat gastritis pills as often as i used to.
I always try not to mention a negative thing. I always tell myself “i want to be a good teacher”. I also avoid complaining because if i do so, it will be stressful. Everytime i start to feel exausted, i will listen to music and talk to friends.
I want to think positive and seeing myself already in possession of my goal that is to teach the young generation to be succesful in their lives. I don’t like to be with people who have negative thinking. If i have to, i will advise them to think positive all the time. Want to stay young and energetic like me?Just have positive thinking everytime!Life is too short to frown. Live life to the fullest!
Body fitness? People who want to get into shape don’t realize there is more to fitness than well-toned muscles. There’s no shortage of exercise regimes that just promote the perfection of the body, or the idea of fitness as a part of a weight loss plan.
Centuries ago, Western culture lost its focus on the interconnectedness between the body and the mind or spirit, and how each has the power to affect the other. Cultivating a love of movement can help you get beyond the concept of physical fitness as separate from mental fitness and toward a lifelong program of good health through mind and body fitness.
Whether you choose yoga or another form of movement for exercise, remember that our bodies are made to move to feel good. So when you incorporate regular activity in your life, you are moving closer to overall mind and body fitness. But if you are overweight, this could be tougher.
You might consider redefining exercise as any activity that unites your mind and body and reduces your stress level. In fact, high levels of stress have been linked to weight gain, and certainly can lead to emotional eating. Finding activities that are both enjoyable and easy to do is important when developing any type of exercise plan.
It’s important to be realistic about what we expect from ourselves. Consider your goals. Is 30 to 60 minutes on a treadmill a reasonable time frame at this point in your life? Are you setting yourself up for failure or success when you create this expectation for yourself? Would it be more enjoyable to you to do some stretching and a shorter period of time on the treadmill?
Developing an exercise plan that fits your lifestyle and your desires is critical. Surprisingly, long-term weight loss is linked more closely to whether a person sticks to their fitness routine than to what that routine actually consists of. A routine that is gentle and pleasurable is more likely to lead to the long-term gains you are seeking.
All-or-nothing thinking about exercise leads us to first bite off more than we can chew and then give up all together. Just walk into a gym in the month of January and try to get on a Stairmaster. There’s a good chance you’ll have to wait in line. But by March or April, there are usually plenty of free machines.
It is also important to tailor your fitness goals to your preferences. Some people like the idea of getting out of the house in the evening and going to the gym. Others prefer staying home and doing a quieter exercise routine after the demands of a stressful day. Either approach, or a combination of the two, can result in improved mind and body fitness.
What is critical is for you to come to know yourself and to take yourself seriously. If you like to be home in the evenings, find things to do in your home or consider an occasional walk with friends or family. If you crave the company of others, head for the gym. Think about what would please you most, and follow your inner voice.
Many people who are preoccupied with food and body issues tend to pay too much attention to the needs of others, while paying too little attention to their own needs. While you may intend to benefit your children with their countless activities, the added stress can cause an imbalance within your family. Can you take a look at your schedule (or your family’s) and reschedule some time for yourself? What would it be like to say no?
Long-term weight loss can take time. And we can get demoralized when we don’t see immediate results. But remember that maintaining an exercise routine is associated with physical as well as mental well-being. Where has our focus on the numbers on our scale gotten us? Some would say it has taken us to more harsh thoughts, more bingeing and grazing on food, and, ironically, less fitness rather than more.
It may be that the best exercise you can do right now is to throw your scale into the garbage. Focus on how you’re feeling with your exercise routine. Is it something you enjoy and can maintain? Is it reducing your stress level and allowing a connection between your mind and body? If so, you’ll probably keep it up, and fitness of mind and body and spirit will be yours.
There is tremendous confusion in our society about how to approach health and fitness. You may have tried losing weight before and failed. But consider the possibility that we as a society have not failed at dieting and weight loss. Rather, dieting has failed us as an effective tool for fitness.
Remember that fitness of mind and body belong together, and that exercise is very narrowly defined in our society. So redefine exercise as any activity that reduces stress and connects your mind and body.
Bad mood? Everyone hated it! As for me too… Because a bad mood, ruin my whole day!
How to get over it? Here are some techniques I did to draw on when come to difficult times of getting bad mood.
• Pick a piece of uplifting music and listen to it. Listen to fast bit music that can lift me up. Enjoy dance! Of course in my private room.
• Find someone I grateful for and express my gratitude to him/her. I love to express my gratitude especially to my lovely mother; I think would same as you too. Mother always our good listener, she gives us support when we needed, she guides us to the best way from her own experiences. She is the best, I am proud to be her daughter.
• Recall something or someone who makes me happy and daydream about it or him/her. Usually I will think someone I love or a special trip or place I have been or want to go. I love sitting on the island watching the wave in and out, listening to the wave sound. In June, I went to Pulau Perhentian, Terangganu with my best friends and we spent several evenings at an outdoor and watching the sun set over the water. We sat on the beautiful sand and listening to the beautiful wave sound. It is a place I often return to in my daydreams.
• Focus on what I have been ignoring. I like to read book or novel and try to focus on what I have been ignoring for so long.
• Get some exercise. I will go for swimming. Do you know? Swimming increase our heart rate and stimulate our muscle activity is easily accomplished in the water. Swimming a few laps can help us cool-down, move blood through our muscles to help them recover, and help us relax as we glide through the water. Not like others activities, swimming can be alone, no need to involve group of people, I can swim anytime, any style I like.
• Stay in the present. Appreciate the mundane by focusing on the activities without thinking like eating, bathing, walking. Somehow, I will think of how good the water feels in the shower, how soft or hard the ground feels on the feet or just silently eats my meal and really tastes it.
• Take a break and have a cup of tea. I may sit quietly for 15 minutes. Keep mind blank. You know why? Often the silence is enough to change our mood. Sitting quietly keeping our mind off everything brings us back. I particularly like doing this, having a cup of hot tea with families or friends after dinner.
• Find some healthy food to eat. I like chocolate, especially dark chocolate. When I was in bad mood, I will go to the nearest market to buy a bar of dark chocolate. Chocolate is plant-derived, as are the fruits and vegetables recommended for a healthy heart. Eat “A Dark Chocolate a Day Keeps the Doctor Away”, said Daniel J. De Noon, a medical, editor and communications consultant.
• Sing favorite song with or without the radio or stereo on. I like to sing song. Well, I have my own KTV, guess what? Singing at my private bathroom while taking bath, save cost and provided excellence sound effect! Good idea!
Everyone expresses themselves in his own unique way. So, what about you? How you act when you were in bad mood? Just share with us by dropping a message in this blog. Whatever method works out for you and me, hope everyone was able to find a SMILE!
Did you know that up to now, apparently just body massage itself contains more than 200 hundred over types that being practiced all over the world? Did you know that spa is not merely as simple as soaking yourself in a Jacuzzi pool / tub? Did you know that some food/beverage that we consume all this while is actually spa treatment, such as caviar, wine, chocolate and even beer?! Did you know that there are actually age limit concerns when you want to visit a spa? Ever notice that mostly all the high end hotels nowadays, spa is like a MUST, as part of their facilities?
After many years of searching for the ultimate relaxation, I’ve finally found my favorite. 3 magical letters would now brighten my day however dreadful or tiring the day might have been - SPA. The word “Spa” is frequently used, but seldom defined. No mystery to all who’ve heard this the term SPA before but how did all this start? That was my question seeking for the genius who invented my favorite mode of relaxation.
Through the Oxford Dictionary, a spa is “a place where there is a curative mineral spring”. It has been argued that the Belgian town of Spa gave rise to what has become a widely-used noun and adjective. There is also an argument that the word spa is actually an acronym based on the Latin phrase “sanitas per aquas”. True or not, the original phrase remains an excellent definition for the word spa meaning - “health through water”. It is said, that in the medieval times illnesses caused by iron deficiency have been treated by drinking iron bearing (chalybeate) spring water.
With the Spa being an international phenomenon, associations governing Spas around the world such as the International Spa Association (ISPA) are formed. According to the ISPA Spa is simply explained as an entity devoted to enhancing overall well-being through a variety of professional services that encourage the renewal of mind, body and spirit.
In today’s society, numerous types of Spa are available for your relaxation as well as to cater for special interests group. Some of the categories as defined by the ISPA and Spa Finder include the following:
Casino Spas - Casino Spas offer vacationers a chance to try their hand at any number of exciting games of chance without leaving the premises. These high-end properties tend to attract fun-seeking travelers who like both their excitement and their spa luxury in large doses.
Club Spa - A facility whose primary purpose is fitness and which offers a variety of professionally administered spa services on a day-use basis.
Connoisseur Spas - To SpaFinder, connoisseurship stands for scarcity, authenticity, and pedigree. Only truly extraordinary spas are invited to be listed as a Connoisseur Spa. This elite collection was chosen by the SpaFinder through using strict criteria such as extraordinary ambience, luxurious accommodations, high staff-to-guest ratio, exceptional spa services, outstanding cuisine, and industry awards and recognition.
Cruise Ship Spa – A spa aboard a cruise ship providing professionally administered spa services, fitness and wellness components and spa cuisine menu choices.
